EASTER SUNDAY – D.C.B band were pleased to be playing at Kilngreen Church, Diggle for the 2021 Easter Service . The outdoor service was set in the pretty location of Lee Side, Diggle. Our permitted number of players enjoyed the occasion. During the service the congregation joined in with hymns played by the band. Passers by stopped to listen and appeared to enjoy what’s going on in the village. It certainly was a good day. Furthermore we hope to be able to come together to play again soon.
Diggle Community Brass are proud to announce that we have had our first rehearsal for 2021 ! It was great to be back together again. (Although the number of our players was considerably reduced due to Government Covid 19 Guidelines.) We were able to rehearse outdoors on a lovely fine evening and within the beautiful surroundings of Diggle Band Club. Look out for the Whit Spirit video by Martyn Stogden. @martynstogden
We were delighted to try out our new uniforms when busking at Victoria Station. Regulations permitted groups of 6 players, socially distanced. Thanks to Stephanie Whitehead for the great logo design, Angela Cullen of Stitches R Us, who turned the order for jackets round in double quick time, and National Rail for making it possible.
We are proud to announce that Jamie Fletcher carried out the task of playing the Last Post in the Ripponden Remembrance Ceremonies on behalf of our band.
